A new, redesigned and optimal workplace for Merck!
After a first phase on pre-project analysis & workplace assessment of their HQ, Merck Greece – the leading science and technology company in healthcare, life science and performance materials – assigned STIRIXIS Group the task of redesigning and renovating their workplace to better reflect the company’s brand identity and values, as well as update it to a new work model.
We created a modern, powerful new concept for Merck Greece that re-energized their workplace, enhancing performance and boosting engagement.
The project
Throughout the project, our teams seamlessly managed and delivered all stages from business case to concept design, all the way to final execution and handover. We are proud to have delivered a perfect project on budget and on time, even under the strenuous conditions of a lockdown due to the current pandemic.
The front desk reception maintained its essential architectural structure, adjusting mostly the front desk furniture to two workstations instead of one, and was enriched aesthetically with mobile furniture, planting, directional marking and logos.
The upper floor levels were embellished with state-of-the-art booths and informal meeting rooms, while establishing a safer circular continuous flow for employees. All areas where designed with maximum transparency on a functional and modern open plan model. The use of natural material textures and vibrant colors, based on the impressive artwork of Merck’s identity, adds to the overall result of a balanced and uplifting work environment, contributing to psychological safety, engagement and higher performance.
Sound-absorbing surfaces were integrated to all areas which together with an intelligent lighting design enhance user experience and focus. Sound insulation was carefully designed for meeting rooms and booths, enabling the required privacy. Branding was enhanced with environmental graphics depicting elements of “Greekness” and an efficient yet subtle wayfinding system was designed for functional navigation throughout each floor.
