GEMMA brings nature inside its new workplace!
STIRIXIS Group was assigned the renovation of GEMMA offices, located in Attica, Greece. GEMMA, founded in 1981, is one of the largest import, commercial and production companies in the agricultural sector of Greece, offering a wide range of top quality products both for hobby and professional use.
The management, after almost 30 years since the establishment of the company, and with the second generation taking the lead, decided to launch a rebranding marking the new era. The rebranding, combined with the increasing collaboration with firms abroad, created the need of an office redesign, turning it into something modern and more internationally oriented.
The project
The project encompassed the total renovation of the office area of the building as well as a restricted retail area at the main entrance. The central warehouse of the company operates also at the same building. GEMMA’s building is a two-level building. The ground floor comprises the storage room and the retail area, while the first floor hosts the offices of the company.
The company, being in growth, needed to expand its workforce, increasing the space occupied by the offices and limiting, simultaneously, the storage area. In this way, the first part would coexist harmonically with the second. The project also included an update of the company’s identity, through STIRIXIS Group’s holistic approach and strategy.
The ground floor got redesigned in a way that now hosts only a limited space of the reception and the pick-up area, at the main entrance of the building. Adjacent to them are most of the open-space offices, all the necessary rooms for the employees (meeting rooms, kitchenette etc.), as well as the warehouse of the company. The first floor is comprised of the management’s offices and the main meeting rooms, including a waiting room and back offices.
Regarding the interior design, natural colors and textures were selected to match GEMMA’s new rebranded and elegant profile. The dominant color is green, combined with wood, reflecting not only the identity of the company, but also communicating a sense of nature and heritage at the same time. Environmental graphics, signage and way finding are based on the new identity enhancing it further in the physical space.
In terms of execution, the project was highly demanding since the delivery deadline was in two months sharp. The construction was phased as the company could not pause its operations at all.
